Senator Bernie Sanders visited Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital on Monday afternoon. He is a member of the Health Education Labor Committee in the Senate. Many topics were touched upon briefly; he asked how NVRH and its many collaborators, like Northern Counties Healthcare and Northeast Kingdom Human Services, were working together.

Seleem Choudhury, the hospital's Chief Nursing Officer, spoke about the lack of ongoing mental health therapeutic care, saying that there are very few places in Vermont to transfer the mentally ill.
